The company was originally founded by Tad Taylor as a full service healthy building and design company back in 1985 out of necessity when Tad's personal health became an issue, specifically severe chemical sensitivities.
With a lifetime of knowledge in building and renovating passed down through hands on learning experiences, it would never been possible to link up this kind of data along with firsthand experience that establish this critical consciousness and understanding that we have today

Justin has been working with Tad since the age of 10; although not chemically sensitive, has lived in a chemical free environment all his life & is very aware of the toxicity in materials that can be hazardous to your health.
Having the opportunity to absorb information from Tad as a young boy, to over 15 years of building experience & schooling gives Justin the knowledge & strength to continue the business.
Using the same standards Tad set for his own survival and healing, and the standards he adopted for the basis for analyzing all the concerns, now sets us as the leader in understanding and dealing with health the issues that are caused by low level toxic exposures.

Justin Taylor    has continued the family business, pushing harder than ever to keep up with the continuous line up of orders.
From the knowledge passed down, to the incite of a designer & attention to detail, Justin & his team strives to push the best products on the market today.

We are very aggressive in trying to keep up with the market & new (safe) products along with developing methods to better our health & living environments.
Over the years we have invested a substantial amount of money in the proper equipment to enable us to come up with new innovative designs that in the past would not be possible.
Our goal is to not only develop the ultimate "safe" environment for you to heal your body, but create a home for you to enjoy the aesthetics & beauty of your living space.

We have designed systems for compiling project data and checklists, for tracking materials, and managing projects.

These systems increase our efficiency, cut down operational costs, and eliminate the potential for costly mistakes and failures. Educating subs and then directing and monitoring activities play a mandatory role in the processes' we use today in healthy home building.
Because we have had the opportunity to work with persons who desire privacy in their lives, we have created a set of security guidelines for projects to keep them running smoothly and successfully from start to finish, with the degree
of confidentiality that each client is most comfortable with.

Founders

Tad Taylor

was seasoned, published designer who worked in the areas of creative architecture, furniture design, house renovation and construction. His successful design and construction business was interrupted a number of years ago when he was diagnosed as multiple chemically sensitive, following an eight - year decline in health that left him seriously ill. In the years that followed, Tad had worked in researching material and product toxicity, and establishing safe building processes and procedures for different levels of sensitivities.

Tad specialized in product analysis, creative design and project setup and management, including client representation. Projects that are planned properly and run with efficiency save more time, money and stress that can be imagined. Waste and inefficiency destroy projects and relationships and frequently change the focal point from creative interaction to stress and anxiety. Accomplishing healthy building when health is the priority, is a tricky undertaking that necessitates experience and a total, undivided attention.

Pam, Tad & their son Justin have been involved in projects that have taken them all over the east and west coasts, from Vermont, New York, Long Island, Connecticut and New Jersey; to the west coast, Los Angeles, Arizona, & Montana

Pam Taylor

has worked as a successful independent clothes designer and wardrobe consultant. She has also worked as a furniture accessories and architectural designer, focusing primarily on her specialty of interior design. Pam's goal in her design work is to create an environment that is in total harmony with the client. For her, it is a progressive educational experience of the self. "Personalizing yourself in your environment," she calls it. Pam is a master in the science of expertly assembling exciting aesthetics from a client's vision, and fulfilling their design needs.

Biography

Pam
and Tad Taylor originally founded  NONTOXIC ENVIRONMENTS as a full service healthy building and design company back in 1985 in Greenwich Ct.
From there the name has chanced more than once from Tad Taylor's Healthy Homes finally to Taylor Design Healthy Homes.

This experienced and mature team and their creative company knew that a commitment to quality and service with integrity is the key to successful business relationships and building projects. Designing and building is a very exciting growth oriented experience, and when a project is organized and managed properly, the job can be done well, efficiently, and with a lot of  fun! The client can then remain focused on those aspects of the project which are exciting to them. This is our goal on any job.

The company was born out of  the need of  Tad and Pam to adjust their goals to a changing time. Tad decided to become involved in healthy building in 1985, when dealing with his own personal health problems, specifically severe chemical sensitivities. As a published designer and experienced builder at that time, the combination of skills and experiences brought a fresh light to a leading edge area in the building field. Deciding to research the area for the next 10 years, Tad began gathering all types of information from publications and private connections of clients and case histories, establishing an extensive data base and criteria for building that is unequaled today.  Tad's favorite books included medical books on clinical toxicology and the toxicology of commercial products, which scientifically establish the links between human health problems and low level chemical exposures. These resources, in addition to Tad's daily experiences of working in the field, and the ability [as a universal reactor] to detect sub odor level toxins, had made him a leader in the area of detection and mediation of sub odor level toxins.

Once you open the Pandora's box of healthy building for people with extreme sensitivities, there are an infinite number of  overlapping concerns. With out extensive experience in each of these areas, problems will occur. Tad's experiences contribute to a thorough knowledge of  each area related to these health concerns. If the related areas are not experienced fully on a personal and not theoretical level, this ability to understand all the subtitles will not exist in one or in a group of people.

This is what made Tad's life's experiences and skills so unique. The standards Tad had set for his own survival and healing, and those standards he has adopted for the basis for analysis of all the combined concerns, now sets us as the leader in understanding and dealing with leading edge health issues caused by low level toxic exposures. Without a lifetime of experiences & knowledge in building and renovating passed down, and without the learning experiences of severely chemically sensitivity, it would not be possible to link up data with first hand experience that establish this critical consciousness and understanding.

On September 12, 2006 Tad Taylor passed away after a long battle with lung cancer.

Tad's son Justin Taylor has continued on with his work; aiming towards creating safe living places, free of any toxic materials.
Justin has been working with Tad since the age of 10; although not chemically sensitive, is very aware of the toxicity in  materials that can  be hazardous to your health.  Having the opportunity to absorb information from Tad as a young boy, to over 15 years of building experience & schooling gives Justin the knowledge & strength to continue on with Tads legacy.
